Norvasc is used to lower blood pressure in the legs. It can be used to treat angina, a condition in which the heart cannot pump blood effectively enough to keep the heart alive.
Norvasc may be prescribed to treat high blood pressure.
You may also be prescribed to lower blood pressure by relaxing the blood vessels, such as by relaxing the muscles in your legs, to allow blood to flow more easily.
Norvasc belongs to a class of medications called calcium channel blockers. It works by relaxing the blood vessels in your kidneys, allowing more blood to flow into them.
Potassium is the most important electrolyte for blood. Calcium is the key mineral for muscle contraction. In addition, calcium helps your heart pump blood effectively.
In the body, your kidneys take time for the body to produce enough potassium. That is, the amount of potassium you produce decreases gradually over time.
To keep potassium, your body produces a certain amount of sodium, which is then broken down by your kidneys to the body's salt. That's why your blood pressure falls suddenly.
To get the most of your potassium, your doctor will likely start with a low dose, then slowly increase it over a period of about 10 minutes to 1 hour.
Norvasc is a type of medication called angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors. Angiotensin is a hormone produced by your kidneys, and it can change how the body works.
The kidneys convert potassium into sodium. (A potassium deficiency can cause kidney damage.) Your doctor will prescribe Norvasc if you have high blood pressure or if you have hypertension.
High blood pressure can increase your risk of a heart attack or stroke.
Norvasc is not approved for use in children and teenagers because it is not approved by the U. S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of high blood pressure.
The only approved Norvasc for these conditions is Norvasc (amlodipine) and hydrochlorothiazide (amlodipine hydrochloride).
If you are taking a calcium channel blocker medication, your doctor will likely start with a low dose and increase it over a period of about 10 minutes to 1 hour.
However, a heart rhythm check is needed to determine whether your blood pressure is consistent with a normal rhythm.
You may also be prescribed to lower your blood pressure by relaxing the heart muscle, which reduces your heart's ability to pump blood effectively.
A blood pressure (BP) test is an ultrasound test used to check your blood pressure when you stand up from sitting or standing. It is not typically needed for Norvasc. However, some doctors use the U. National Library of Medicine's (NLOM) to test for the presence of blood pressure.
Your doctor will likely start with a low dose and increase it over a period of about 10 minutes to 1 hour.
The results of this test can then be compared to the results of a blood pressure (BP) test.
If the results are positive, your doctor will increase your dose over a period of about 10 minutes to 1 hour.
The doctor will likely increase your dose up to 2 to 3 times over a period of about 10 minutes.
This test can't be used by your doctor to check your BP over time. However, a blood pressure test may be performed to measure your blood pressure if your doctor thinks it is normal for you to experience a shortness of breath, dizziness or lightheadedness.
Your doctor will likely also check your heart and how well your body is working.
If the results are positive, your doctor will likely increase your dose up to 3 to 5 times over a period of about 10 minutes.
A blood pressure (BP) test may also be performed to measure your blood pressure if your doctor thinks it is normal for you to experience a shortness of breath, dizziness or lightheadedness.
